A Sweet Story

Once there was a sweet little girl.

She had pigtails. They were sweet too.

She liked to play with her sister. They both loved to color, paste, and cut - creating works of art for their mother.

One day this little girl had an idea. She thought of all the other things scissors were used for.

And she tried to bring back the bowl cut - barely missing her ear.

Her mother (who was also very sweet) flipped out a little, cried, and finally just couldn't stop laughing.

Thanks to a some friendly advice they had a little fun with it before calling the hairdresser

and made a pretty freakin sweet mullet.

Then Jessie rushed over, assessed the damage, went to work,

and the sweet pigtails were no more...

Oh Hay,
She is still so stinkin adorable. I had a very similar experience as child, except one night my pigtails were cut off by my sister.
The end result was a much shorter version of GM's current haircut and everyone called me a boy at kindergarten. Very traumatic.
She still has plenty of time before kindergarten.

Her hair looks adorable! Reagan did the same thing last week. She olny gave herself a left side mullet though. She got distracted with the dog's tail full of hair. So now Reagan and the dog have hair issues!

She seriously looks soooo cute with her bob!!! Jessie is amazing. The mullet was pretty awesome too. Good thing she has such thick beautiful hair. Sydney's wouldn't be thick enough to save. She looks beautiful but of course she looks cute no matter what!

Oh Hayley! Emily did the same thing on the side & top of her hair too (not as bad as your lil' ones). I totally cried cause it was so long. In the end its just hair and it'll grow back though. I have to say she looks very adorable with the new cut. :)

oh man. i would have cried too. I was the big sister that would cut not only my own hair but my little sis's too. Hopefully it wont become a family picture ritual, like it seemed to be for me and Kara. The new little do is just adorable. Mae looks so old and wise.

My daughter cut her hair last fall....she managed to "feather" her bangs on each side all by herself! I was quite impressed. Sadly before she ever got the chance to cut her own hair her brother managed to take a huge chunk out of the back right at her crown...all the way down to the scalp. I cried both times. I'll also throw in there that their dad was watching them both times...HA!!!

The mullet pic was priceless. The picture of her in the curlers...ADORABLE!!

Oh my gosh! Glad you had a good time with it. The mullet is awesome! What else can you do when the damage has already been done. Just think how much easier it will be to do her hair now!

OMG!!! I sister cut her bangs off when she was around 3. My mother noticed that the family cat had a "grand canyon" on it's side. Oh how she wished for a ANYTHING other than cutting her bangs completely off!
I have a friend whose daughter did the exact same thing as yours. She now 12, but the memory and photos last forever! What is with these little girlies wanting mullets? She's adorable, with pigtail or not! ;)
oh yes....did she use her own sissors or mommy's good fabric shears? I know someone else (a seamstress) whose granddaughter cut her hair and the child imediately said, "I used MY sissors!" Grandma said, "weel, I guess I can't get too mad!"
