Uninspired

i was feeling it.

like this first block of nursing school has really got the best of me.

E suggested i take a trip to the Good Will.

and it worked. i found treasures.

and a cheap nasty trunk that i will attempt to beautify once i have little Three here

because paint-stripping chemicals are far too nasty to deal with while pregnant. i'll keep you posted on it.

What great finds! I've got an identical milk glass vase to you!

I've been feeling in a funk too, I think it was my return home after a wonderful holiday that did it.

Hasn't blondie's hair got long?

good will ALWAYS makes me feel gooooood. I just got the same same milk glass as you (guess its not that special), I love the pyrex and the nasty trunk. i would leave it blue and beat up but thats just me.

Simple, effective, cheep. That kind of thing (goodwill/dollar store find) does it for me too.

yes. my fav is the wooden truck. you can't really tell in the picture, but it is huge (like little mae's butt fits in the back). i saw one on the floor and picked it up. a lady near me claimed it as hers. i was so bummed, but then she told me there was another back by the toys. score!

i LOVE the trunk. I want it.
Try bullseye paint remover. It's 9 bucks at lowes, and comes in a white and green plastic spray bottle (like a windex bottle?) it is water based, non stinky and works great, AND it doesn't have the little skull and crossbones on the back like all the other paint strippers. I used it on the crib and changing table and dressers and it worked beautifully!

i like to blue too. what would you change the color too?

i don't know how much i like all the accents being painted. i think i'd like them plain metal. and i'd like the color to match the girls room. something bright and flirty maybe. i don't know.

can you believe our stinking town doesn't even have a thrift store?!?!
i'm totally jealous. i love all your finds.

I AM JEALOUS! I have been on the lookout for the last week or so for some vintage pyrex (certain colors) and a trunk (for dress ups)....need to find out where the thrift stores are around here...you did find some GREAT treasures.

Wish we could go treasure hunting together.

and this is why I like you.....I don't know too many people who take a trip to Goodwill for inspiration!!
Great finds!!

I was just going to say I love the blue but I also don't like the metal parts being painted. I once redid our kitchen table and it was a pain but worth it when I was done. I miss doing that kind of stuff! Have fun with that!

And the pyrex made me laugh. We are always teasing my MIL that everything she has is 100 years old. She still has all of her original kitchen stuff from her WEDDING! I'm going to tell her it is considered vintage now. That will make her laugh. I do love her pyrex though (which is just like the kind you found.) It is quite handy and the one thing I am always telling her I would want to keep.
