That Nasty Bunny

I was at my friend Mandy's yesterday and noticed a sweet new little bunny that her daughter had just gotten for her birthday. I looked a little closer and sure enough it slightly resembled Blondie's nasty "MeMe," But Grace's was so sweet, clean, and nice smelling. Here is a before and after just so you can have a clearer idea of what I'm talking about:

So what do you think...time for a new bunny? She is pretty attached. She breastfeeds him, tries to change his diaper, and loves to put him nigh-night. I hate him. He is smelly (no matter how often I throw him in the washer), nappy, and ugly. I'm afraid though that she would reject a replacement and only would want the original MeMe back.

We kind of went through the same thing with Lynnie and her Hippo. We didn't "replace" it, we just phased it out with a new monkey. we encouraged use of the monkey more, and then eventually (it took awhile) she would prefer the monkey over the gross hippo. Good luck!

We haven't had to work with that one yet, Ezra hasn't gotten too attached to anything- he sleeps with his baseball, bat and mit on occassion, and lightning mcqueen sometimes too, but not consistently. Eliza on the other hand is starting to love snuggling something when going to sleep- and she has just started hugging, kissing and rocking baby dolls and stuffed animals! It really is cute, but yeah, good luck with that- oh and awesome work with the big kid bed! I am jealous!

You can see the resemblance in the bunnies, but boy what a difference time makes. Is that what I truly have to look forward to? Maybe I should buy a back up now just in case it turns into a MeMe. I'm not sure how easy Ava coulld be convinced about a new one. She seems to know exactly what she wants and doesn't like it when you try to convince her otherwise. Maybe that's me, but at our house that seems to be her outlook on things. Maybe MeMe could have an "accident" and then you could make a fun little adventure about finding her long lost sister MeMe2. :)

Hayley,
Hey. Your girls are dolls! How are you doing it with two? I'm barely surviving with just one. Maybe one day our kids will meet:) -Mary

Well, luckily Cohen has been fickle and has only loved an animal for 6 months at a time. He did love his duck for a long time, and when he was just too stinky (despite all of the washing, Febreeze and other remedies) I decided to try good ol' sun and baking soda. I left the duck in a pillow case full of baking soda for 24 hours. I then washed him with a load of towels and extra detergent. Then, rather than drying him in the machine, I set him out on the porch to dry in the hot sun. It made all of the difference. Good luck!
